About Us

Dirt Path Publishing exists as a platform for truth telling, the primary truth being that we belong to one another. We expect everyone from our team members to our authors to be committed not only to the idea of social impact, but to taking action in service to social impact.

Dirt Path Publishing lives this expectation by:

  • Signing authors who have a clear orientation toward service to others
  • Sharing profits with you in a way that is fair, including contributing a portion of our profits to a cause important to you.
  • Committing to the use of ethically sourced resources and environmentally sustaining practices
  • Intentionally partnering with mission-aligned, high quality organizations owned and operated by people of underrepresented communities

Working with Dirtpath Publishing has been inspiring and rewarding. When I struggled to find my voice, I was encouraged to dig deeper into myself and release what I was afraid to share with the world. The group editing process let me hear my story through the eyes and ears of others and challenged me to continue writing so that I could say the words I couldn't before. The whole experience allowed me to show up in a way that would connect with readers more authentically.

Through working with Dirt Path Publishing (DDP), I learned how to push myself and produce a more coherent, interesting writing piece because of the process, feedback, and gentle nudging. DDP developed an editing process that included an initial exploration of my beliefs and assumptions (specifically on the topic of our book— race), and called me to reflect on the type of feedback and support I wanted and needed. This intentional process opened up a trusting and reciprocal relationship between the editor and myself. When I read the final product, I was moved by the care the editors took to keep the integrity of my work completely intact, while moving bits and pieces around to make it stronger overall. I felt seen, heard, and challenged throughout the process.

It’s always been an honor to be Nicole’s “first author” with DPP.  From the very beginning to the new projects we are forging now, DPP has been a publishing company I can trust and believe in.  I know my work will maintain my voice, integrity, and message - no matter how “edgy.”

It was an honor to go through the editing and publication process with Dirt Path Publishing. Nicole clearly outlined the process which made this new experience comfortable. I felt encouraged and motivated by Nicole and her team the entire way through. The journey with DDP brought me to a place I didn’t even think I was capable of for at least another 10 years. I am so thankful!

Working with Dirtpath Publishing, particularly Nicole, has been a gift. Nicole is patient and persistent. She encouraged and inspired me to push through my blocks and communicate with more clarity. I had a difficult time pushing through my last project, but Nicole helped me immensely. It is clear that Nicole is gifted in her work as a communicator, but it’s even more clear that she connects with the people, their stories, and becomes an advocate for the greater projects as a whole.
